Mares

Deer Haven Farm offers year round or seasonal boarding. Our pastures are established, improved coastal Bermuda, and heavily populated with gracious aged live oak trees. Native pecans and cultivated newer varieties line the lanes between the paddocks. Alfalfa hay is imported from New Mexico. Our barns are equipped with automatic fly spray systems and closed circuit monitors.

We offer foaling facilities for your valuable mare, and every birth is attended. We will transport her to the stud of your choice for timely breeding, or resident status. Also, we offer artificial insemination services for shipped semen on permissible breed registries. We have no Eastern tent Caterpillars, (or Western for that matter)

Our core broodmare band triangulates betwixt Snooker, Aunte Rhody, and Silver Melody. They have been in our family for over 20 years, and have left large hoof prints for the younger mares to fill. Although all three are still fertile, we recognize their mortality, and will be reserving the fillies these fine mares beginning with the 2003 foal crop.

Replacement mares will include Silver Melody, Brite's High, Wind Over Sea, Bettybigbucks, Buck High, and our newest acquisition by Nureyev, Jennifer's Affair. Photos of the new offspring will be available as Andrew the Wonder Dog finds time in his schedule to download them.
